There was no credit card payment collection at all. But I kept getting sales notifications.

The market

Yesterday I am running a marketing test to find out how many of my member really
using e-gold as payment alternative.

Here is the test :

there is two way you put some e-gold in your account :

receive e-gold from another e-gold account
holder,
you exchange your national currency
for e-gold (or e-silver or e-platinum or e-palladium) using an ‘independent
exchange market maker’ (IEMM). The IEMM will deposit the e-gold into
your e-gold account, on your instruction. You can pay the IEMM by a variety
of methods, such as by cheque

Unless your e-gold account has some money in it, you can buy or send money with e-gold.

There is two way you could turn your e-gold into cash :

Trading your e-gold

If you receive e-gold, or if you just want to cash in all or
some of your holdings, go back to your ‘independent exchange market
maker’ (or another one) and sell your e-gold. Some will even
pay you to sell your e-gold.

What is exactly IPN ?

I read several articles, that describe IPN as Internet Payment Notification, some say as Immidiate Payment Notification and also Instant Payment Notification.

According to articles on wiki :

Instant Payment Notification (IPN) is a way to allow online retailers to handle real-time purchase confirmation and server-to-server communication. This allows the retailer to store transaction or order information in its own database to track its own sales data internally

If you are accepting credit card payment using third party payment gateway such as 2Checkout, paypal or e-gold, your system must be able to "understand" the message that sent by the payment gateway.

Either the payment is successfull nor canceled, payment gateway such as 2checkout,e-gold etc will send notification message.

Each company has their own message format,variables name etc. Make sure your system understand it.

One of the hacking trick, The hackers will try to manipulate the message and send to your system as if it's from the payment gateway.

Please be carefull! And make sure that your system know how to protect from this kind of trick.
